So I decided to start a blog. I hope to maybe keep up with it this time around. Basically I'll be putting stuff here that I enjoy in life, Stuff that interests me. Starting with Law.
A few years ago I went through a huge custody battle for my two children, in the months leading up to the trial, I found myself more and more interested in the things my lawyer was doing. Eventually I found myself having a love affair (in my head of course) every time we spoke. At the end of my trial I realized that I wanted to be a lawyer.
It's been 2 years now and I still want to be a lawyer, thing is I can't afford to go to University.
Recently I started talking to one of my neighbours more often. Turns out that someone in her family was involved in a huge drug bust. Me wanting to be a lawyer, decided to read up on the details and learn everything I can about the case. I stayed up all night last night studying, reading the Criminal Code of Canada, educating myself on everything I possibly could about this case.
Today I was talking to Miranda* about the whole thing, turns out her family member has a daughter from before the charges were laid that he lost to a woman that is neglecting the child. I asked why he doesn't go for custody and she said he doesn't think he'd win because of the past. Thing is, he's done his time, past is past right? The more I hear about this man's story the more intrigued I am with him. I wish I'd have decided to become a lawyer fresh out of High School so there was something I could do to help him.
